Pop! by Vince Virr Dance Company is a high energy dance duet that will get your body popping! This dynamic dance performance is inspired by the surprises of growing up and adolescence, and trying to find your place in the world.
Visually vibrant and bursting with movement and colour, Pop! is a fun, challenging and exciting show for primary school audiences. “Absolutely fantastic, I’m amazed by the stamina and energy of it” Audience member, Tramway “It was class” School group, Belfast Originally an Imaginate commission for the Edinburgh International Children’s Festival, Pop! is suitable for school halls and playgrounds. Register your school’s interest! Performance suitable for P1-P7 pupils. 80 pupils per performance or can reach more pupils if arranged outdoors in the school playground. 2 performances per day (160 pupils in total) plus 1 workshop Ideal performance space 8m x 8m with 3m; clear, flat, uncarpeted hall or large clear, flat outdoor space. Dance workshop suitable for P3-P7 pupils for two classes (around 60 pupils). ABOUT THE PERFORMERSVince Virr is an internationally renowned performer and collaborator having devised and performed work across the global network of festivals and theatres for young audiences through his own work and, with Barrowland Ballet (Scotland), as well as being an Artist in Residence with A.S.K. (China) and leading choreography workshops at Famfest (Chile). He is also an experienced outdoor performer and vertical dancer working with aerial companies in Scotland, Ireland, Austria, Canada and Croatia. Vince is excited to share the eye-catching world of Pop! with you and your audiences, hoping to build positive connectivity between each other.
KJ has performed nationally and internationally with Barrowland Ballet, Project X Dance, Paraorchestra and Friends, Curious Seed Dance and Oceanallover. He is a trained contemporary dancer and also loves hip hop, street and commercial dance styles. He has Aphantasia, which can best be described as image free thinking and wants to develop more ways for dance to be more inclusive for people who process information in non-typical ways. He is currently researching his own work around the development and play for babies and young people. |
