“Living rurally, children often do not have the same opportunities for cultural experiences. Theatre in Schools Scotland promoted creativity, supported children to be calm and engaged, and broadened their horizons!”

Teacher at Dallas Primary School, Moray
“The show stimulated wonderful debates and discussions back in class using the teaching materials. It was great to have the show as a stimulus to discuss the topic of disability and discrimination.
To have my class so engaged that you could hear a pin drop was incredible… The script was captivating, hilarious, sad, frustrating and from the heart. You had us all eating out of your hands. Thank you!”

Curriculum Resources

Introduction For Pupils

Each show will have its own resources for teachers, to help you to preparefor our visit.
Teachers and children will enjoy the performance without prior knowledge of the story but, when available, information packs help teachers prepare and link to classroom plans.

Before you and your class watch the performance please show them: An introduction for Pupils. This video will give pupils a friendly introduction to having a theatre performance in their school. In the video, we have asked some questions to start pupils thinking about the show. These questions can also be used as discussion points after they have all seen the performance.

Exploring Theatre

Imaginate has developed resources to help classes and teachers explore and enhance their experience of theatre. Click here to find out more.

onTAP

We recommend teachers use the free interactive resource onTAP which helps to plan and lead pre- and post-show activities to facilitate discussions about the performance.
