An energetic, colourful and creative mix of hip-hop dance, beatboxing and street art which gently explores the mixed-up feelings that children have been experiencing through these turbulent times in a physical way. ABOUT THE COMPANYStarcatchers is Scotland’s Arts and Early Years organisation. We believe in the transformational power of the arts to inspire Scotland’s youngest children and the adults who care for them. We deliver this vision through three pillars of activity rooted in creativity and designed to connect with our youngest citizens, their parents and carers, and Early Years practitioners in communities across Scotland.
Katy Wilson is a visual artist and a Starcatchers associate artist. Her residency at Tramway, creating work for early years, generated great interest in the community and a wealth of new and exciting ideas and collaborations between artists. Her work for Starcatchers includes Icepole, Multi Coloured Blocks from Space, Will you be my Guinea Pig?, Sparkalator, Sprog Rock and Blue Block Studio. Katy has also been a lead artist on Starcatchers’ community engagement project Expecting Something since 2015. Katy likes to create new worlds and environments for people to feel good, relaxed and inspired in – often sophisticated and far from conventional baby friendly spaces – she likes to shake things up. INFORMATION FOR TEACHERSAll productions will be accompanied by resources to help teachers prepare further activity and link to classroom plans.
